Legend of Zelda

Dun dun dun DUN! Last weekend was an exciting weekend for both the XOXO bakers and our special birthday girl! We recreated the location of the fabled Master Sword, the Sacred Grove from the Legend of Zelda in the surprise birthday cake for Sarah, our special lady!

Sarah was totally surprised by her Legend of Zelda cake

It was indeed quite a challenge for the cake designer as she has no idea how Legend of Zelda looks like. But thanks to our "Mr Cash and Dish-washing" who is also a big fan of the Legend of Zelda  had enlightened us all. And finally we manage to recreate the scene in the Sacred Grove filled with vines (we had Sarah's name made as part of the creeping vines as well!) and not forgetting the fabled Master Sword. For our very first attempt on a cake like this, we are glad how it turned out!

Happy Birthday Mouse!

Last weekend, we were in Birmingham for a special delivery! Caleb, known as the Mouse to his friends, needed our cupcake treats. Decorated with biscuit mice heads, chocolate mice tails and tasty-looking fondant cheese, these delights were infused with Jack Daniels Whiskey to pack a little extra punch!
Baking the whiskey into the cupcake mixture was a new experience, but everyone agreed they turned out great. Finally, we topped the little devils with bitter-sweet dark chocolate ganache to compliment the flavour. Here is the Mouse about to dig in!

Perhaps you too can surprise your friends and family with the cupcakes they never thought of? Say Cheese!

Garden Tea Party with Pimms

Last Saturday, we had a cupcake order for a welcome home garden tea party for a group of girls. As it was for a tea party for such sweet celebratory occasion, a good excuse to have a turn up the notch a little.  So we booze it up with our favourite summer drink, Pimms Lemonade and added some twist to it by infusing fresh peaches into those little cupcakes.

These cupcakes are not just so yummy but also packed with fresh fruit with a Pimm's infused peach coulis in the middle. We made a little extra and lavished ourselves with those little cupcake as well. They were devilish boozy..

Little Milton Charity Football Event

What more better than to lavish yourself with cupcakes, brownies and cookies for a good cause of charity.

On the bank holiday weekend, we participate ourselves for a Dusk-till-Dawn Football Event, raising funds for Prostate Cancer. XOXO managed to get Jo to come help us out in Oxford with her fabulous Australian cakes of Lamingtons and Anzac Biscuits (I must say, its full of yumminess as Sam gobble down his 5th Lamingtons and numerous brownies). We were dead tired even before the event itself after baking for 2 days straight, but we were excited about our first event. So early night for all the daring bakers we have in the kitchen after packing all our cakes and sweets ready for tomorrow's event.

We started off with a great sunny day with "boys" kicking in their football tournament and their ladies cheering for them. What made it more exciting was when we had cute little boys and girls with their face painted as Spiderman, tiger and princesses jumping up and down in the Bouncy Castle with our cupcakes in one hand and brownies on the other.

As the day went on, even mummy are getting hungry. So our little stall were filled with family wanting their sweet fix. And of course the happiest group of people we have on the event are the cute little kids who were just bugging their mummy to get them more cupcakes and brownies. Even though the crowd on this event wasn't big, but we had great time spending time with excited children and gain a lot of experience on event management.

We hope to participate more of this in the future. So if you like us, please do drop us an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

XOXO
